Come Expecting

In August 1997, Bishop Wilkins founded the New Generation Praise & Worship Christian Church, presently know as Greater New Generation Church. The ministry began with 7 adults and 9 youth. Their first service was held in the Piedmont Circle Recreation Center. From there they worshiped in various hotels. They then found a small building space that also housed a trucking company and they converted the office area into their sanctuary. Because of the call to minister to the lost grew, the promises of God manifested and they moved into their current place of worship located at 1850 Gyro Road which seats up to 200. God has added to the church daily such as should be saved and membership is growing!

We exist to glorify God by communicating the truth of Holy Scripture to our congregation and community while encouraging believers to become fully dependent on Jesus Christ and obedient to the Great Commission. We envision a church bring people to Jesus Christ and membership in His family, developing them to Christ-like maturity, identifying their spiritual gifts, talents and equipping them for their ministry in the church as well as their life mission in the world. We envision each of our believers continually aware of God's presence and passionately responding to God with all that they are and all that they have. We see our church responsible for nurturing healthy families, rebuilding damaged marriages, and restoring families in conflict. We envision building relationships with un-churched people in our community while meeting their spiritual and physical needs.
