Woman of God

Sharessa T. Wilkins is the Assistant Pastor of Greater New Generation Church. She is the wife of Bishop Melvin Wilkins Jr., the Pastor and founder of the church. They have been happily married for twenty-nine years.  They have two children, Jairus (27), a 6th-8th grade Language Arts teacher and Isaiah (18), a freshman at Virginia Tech.  She graduated from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County school system and now works as an Administrative Assistant for the school system. She has been a minister of the gospel since December 1999.  Her favorite scripture is Nehemiah 8:10-“The Joy of the Lord is my Strength”. This scripture has been instrumental in her life due to her past being filled with great sorrow.  She now knows that what she went through was not for her to dwell on and let it hinder her, but to move on and be a blessing to someone else who may be going through the same thing. She’s determined to make sure that the she  not only affects the lives of other women by being an example of how God can bring you out, but to be effective in their lives by letting them know that they too can overcome their past sorrows with God’s joy!
